Cassie Campbell knows how tough a woman can be and understands when you need to pivot. She is a two-time Olympic champion and six-time World Champion hockey player who, as a Canadian team captain, led her team to two Olympic gold medals.
Overcoming is a theme in her life and she teaches others how to stay positive and motivated to meet new challenges.
Cassie turned to broadcasting after retiring from hockey with a position at Hockey Night in Canada. She was the first woman to provide colour commentary for a Saturday night broadcast. A trailblazer, Cassie advocates for a Women’s National Hockey League and donates time in charitable efforts like the Ronald McDonald House and Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest among others.
Cassie is an inductee to the Canada Sports Hall of Fame, an honouree of the Order of Hockey in Canada. She is a recipient of the CWHL Humanitarian of the Year Award, an analyst for Sportsnet, a Member of the Order of Canada, and a hockey mom.
She also holds honourary degrees from the University of Guelph, University of Windsor, University of Ottawa, University of British Columbia, and Mount Royal University
