“The “feature” act was a Canadian by way of Australia named Garrett Clark. The feature’s job was to sort out the audience’s likes and dislikes. To entertain, but not overshadow the headliner. He was very funny, and it is easy to see why Shlesinger brought this former flight attendant down from Vancouver. I’m really glad he eventually mentioned where he was from, since I spent the first half of his set trying to determine his accent. The punchline and delivery were roll-on-the-floor funny. Other jokes ranged from defending his masculinity as a flight attendant, to language sports with “fun” and “Lufthansa,” which he claimed were the “gayest” sounding German words. That may sound somewhat homophobic but wasn’t — it was more about playing with stereotypes.
