Piano Catz features the two dueling pianists Kyle McKiernan and Mike Lawson, with drummer Greg Black giving the group an incredible diversity. They’ve been impressing audiences in clubs, trade shows, conventions, charity events, casinos, conventions, and business functions for years. Lawson is an unforgettable performer with his big voice and an even bigger personality. He’s worked as an event organizer and music director himself, so he understands the responsibilities and headaches you’re facing. He also knows that it’s all worth it when the band connects with the audience. Greg Black, meanwhile, is a well-known Winnipeg jazz musician who spends most of his time in the recording studio, though he has toured in the US and France as well. His addition to this dueling piano duo meant that they could add even more of your favorite songs to their repertoire.
So you may be asking, what is their repertoire? There wouldn’t enough room to name them all, but they play all the greatest hits of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Coasters, Otis Redding, Elvis Presley, BB King, The Guess Who, the Blues Brothers, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Sammy Davis Junior, Muddy Waters, Tom Waits, and Cab Calloway. Dance the night away to big band blues classics like “Minnie the Moocher” and toe-tapping rockers like “Satisfaction.” You’ll feel as though you’ve been transported straight to Harlem’s Cotton Club in the 1940s, or for a sultry feel, maybe “Down in Mexico.” The great thing about Piano Catz is that they’re open to all of your audience’s requests.
