Leadership comes in many forms. In the family, a father is considered the leader of the home; in team sports, the captain or skipper is considered the leader of the team; while the CEO or manager is considered the leader in a company or organizations. The leaders in all three examples have something in common, which is that they guide, manage, and direct others to accomplish different tasks. In the case of the father, his work is to ensure everybody is taken care of in the family financially and otherwise. That of the captain of a team sport is to ensure the other members of his or her team effectively carry out their jobs, and the team wins every match they play. While the job of the CEO or manager is to ensure all employees do their jobs properly and the company is always making a profit.

“Thanks so much for delivering our keynote address last week to open the 84th Annual Meeting of the West Virginia Credit Union League. It was the first time in our long history that we didn't hold the meeting in-person and it was our first venture into the world of virtual meetings. A lot was riding on the opening presentation and we couldn't be happier with the message you delivered. Not only was your story captivating, it was truly an inspirational message that resonated with all of our folks. Immediately after the meeting and continuing a week later, we're hearing compliment after compliment on your remarks. One CEO shared this with me: "I was inspired by Dave Sanderson’s presentation and his recollection of his Mom’s words that propelled him in that moment and throughout his life. It resonated with me because my Dad never allowed my sister or I to say ‘Life’s not fair’. His response was yes, you are correct life’s not fair so what are you going to do to make the situation better." Many very similar responses have been received. It was a real pleasure working with you. No doubt you've delivered a similar message many times since that fateful day in 2009, yet your message was fresh and moving as if it had just occurred. Thank you for doing such a professional job for us.”

“David speaks to business, but you get the feeling that he is really speaking to society – we need more accountability and authenticity. It is easy to see his personal commitment to these two principles. His message is very simple, almost intuitive, but so valuable in today’s world where we often look to somebody else to solve our problems for us. Many of us think of accountability and think of blame, of the negative side. David helps us see that it is something to get enthusiastic about. Our work with David has helped shape our leaders and impact our culture.”

Responses from all in attendance were very positive as everyone enjoyed your motivational words of wisdom. "The Sky Is Not The Limit" is an ideology which can easily be related to our personal lives as well as objectives within the workplace."Ottawa Tourism & Convention Authority
