Raised in a single parent family with five brothers and sisters, with a mother born in Trinidad and Tobago, who had to raise her kids in Canada. Stand up comedy is not only natural to Sterling Scott, It’s a way of life!
Stand-up comedy found Sterling Scott after he was going through disappointment about being passed over for the MuchMusic VJ search despite a very funny audition video. His friends took him out to an open mic comedy night to cheer him up and talked him into going on stage. One taste of the laughter and he was hooked!
After honing his act over four years at open mic nights and showcases, Scott hit the road, as new professional comics do. Sterling has traveled all across Canada the U.S. and even overseas. With notable performances at the world famous Apollo theatre, Caesar’s palace in Las Vegas, in Kuwait. Iraq and Afghanistan performing for the troops, the just for laughs festival in Montreal, and as a writer and actor on the television show “This Hour has 22 minutes.
Sterling was born in Scarborough Ontario and now currently resides in Edmonton Alberta.
Often described as a high-energy performer and a crowd favorite, his material stems from his experiences with relationships, family, & current events. Also he draws material comes from his out look on life and the world, and those awkward moments that people from all walks of life can relate to.
