Todd Huston went from dying twice during a horrific boat accident, to having one leg amputated to climbing the highest elevations of all 50 states in record-breaking time. He knows how to help others overcome both physical and mental challenges.
Todd’s life changed when his legs got caught in a boat propeller during a July 4th family vacation. At age 14, he struggled to keep his legs, but bone disease forced the amputation of one.
He went on to become a psychotherapist and the clinical director of the Amputee Resource Center in California. His work includes helping those of all ages in psychiatric hospitals. Todd also trains health care workers to work with people with disabilities.
Todd’s biggest personal channel was to complete the Summit American expedition. He finished it in 66 days, 22 hours, and 47 minutes, beating the original record by 35 days.
An international speaker for more than 20 years, Todd inspires all who hears him to overcome challenges and achieve goals. He has been the subject of features globally in such publications as Sports Illustrated, Forbes, the Wall Street Journal and Chicken Soup for the Soul, a Second Helping. He was a guest on CBS Year in Sports and Robert Schuller’s Hour of Power. He has been interviewed by national media reporters’ numerous times.
