1. Is it appropriate to book a safety speaker after a serious incident at our site?
It can be, with care and the right timing. Immediately after an incident, the workplace needs investigation, support, and quiet, not a keynote. Weeks or months later, a speaker who has lived through a similar event can help a shaken workforce process what happened and recommit without the message coming from management, whose credibility may be strained. 2. How graphic do survivor-story talks get, and can we set limits?
The honest answer is that the details are part of why these talks change behaviour, but professionals calibrate. Most survivor speakers describe their incident vividly enough that the room feels the consequence, without lingering on gore for its own sake, and many adjust photos or descriptions based on the audience. If your workforce includes people close to a recent incident, or the event includes family members, say so, and agree on boundaries during booking. 6. Can the speaker present at the worksite itself rather than a conference venue?
Many safety speakers prefer it.
