WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING
“You were a BIG HIT... feedback from our event was great... you scored 4.5 out of 5 in our survey!” -
RBC Insurance

"I just wanted to pass along my massive appreciation for the Comedy Night last week. You did an awesome job and staff have been raving about how much fun it was. Thank you so much!" Virtual Show, Bo - Vice Principal
"Mr. D. is dopey, deadpan and quietly hilarious. Gerry Dee stars as a seriously under qualified but ambitious teacher stumbling through classes and school politics. It's rare for a Canadian standup comedian to get a sitcom vehicle and in this instance, it works." - Season 2 of CBC's hit comedy, Mr. D. Globe and Mail
How to book an entertainer
- Tell us about your event, or ask us to check availability for an act you have in mind. We’ll send back a shareable proposal covering fees, show details, and video clips so your team can compare options easily.
- When you’ve made your choice, we present your offer to the entertainer and manage the contract negotiations for you.
- After that, a dedicated logistics manager handles the planning: confirming staging, sound, and travel requirements, and making sure everything is set before showtime.
Frequently Asked Questions About Hiring Comedians
1. What makes a corporate comedian different from a club comedian?
The room, mostly. A club audience chose to be there, paid for tickets, and has been drinking; a corporate audience is at a work function with their boss three seats away. Corporate comedians build material that works without shock value, read a professional room quickly, and recover gracefully when a joke meets silence rather than turning on the audience. Plenty of brilliant club comics struggle at conferences. Look for a track record of corporate dates, not just festival credits.
2. When is a comedian the better choice over a band or another act?
Comedy suits moments when you want the room seated, focused, and sharing one experience: after dinner, between awards, or closing a heavy day of sessions. A band suits moments when you want people out of their chairs and mingling. Comedy also travels lighter, with minimal staging and no dance floor required, which matters in hotel ballrooms with tight turnarounds. Many galas use both: a comedy set while guests are seated, then a band to finish the night.
3. How long should a corporate comedy set run?
Shorter than most planners expect. For a headline after-dinner spot, 45 minutes is the common ceiling, and 20 to 30 minutes is often the sweet spot for awards nights and conferences where the agenda is full. Corporate audiences laugh hard but tire faster than club crowds, especially late in a long day. A tight set that ends with the room wanting more beats a long one that peaks in the middle. Your comedian will have a recommendation; listen to it.
4. Where in the agenda does comedy land best?
After the meal and before the room gets restless. Mid-meal comedy fights cutlery noise and table conversation, and a set scheduled too late collides with tired guests and open bars. If the evening includes awards, placing short comedy segments between award blocks keeps energy up better than one long set at the end. For daytime conferences, a comedy block after lunch fights the afternoon slump well. Whatever the slot, protect it from agenda overruns.
5. Our attendees range from their twenties to their seventies. Can one comedian reach the whole room?
The good ones do it every week, and it’s a fair thing to screen for. Comedians who lean entirely on dated references lose the young half; those who lean on internet culture lose the other. The material that spans generations tends to be observational: family, travel, work, and everyday absurdity. Watch a full set and note whether the references require a particular age to land. Tell your booking advisor about the age range and they’ll shortlist accordingly.
6. Can we review the comedian’s material before the event?
You can set boundaries, but don’t expect a word-for-word script, since stand-up depends on delivery and in-the-moment adjustment. The standard practice is a pre-event call where you flag off-limits topics, sensitive company situations, and anyone in the room who shouldn’t be singled out. Professionals welcome this conversation because it protects them too. If a comedian resists any content discussion at all, or if you feel you need to approve every line, the fit is wrong either way.
