Jeff Adams is so well-known as an athlete that people may forget that he survived childhood cancer. Yet, it was the cancer and the subsequent radiation treatment that put him in a wheelchair.
The radiation treatment saved his life but damaged his spinal cord, causing him to start using a wheelchair young. He loved competitive sports, so he figured out how to make the wheelchair part of his sports life.
It worked because Adams is a two-time Olympian, as well as a four-time Paralympian, and a six-time World Champion. He also is a prior World Record holder in the 1500m men’s wheelchair event.
A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, Jeff is also a member of the Order of Ontario, has been inducted into the Terry Fox Hall of Fame, Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, the Athletics Ontario Sports Hall of Fame, and the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame.
He speaks about recognizing excellence all around and the need to be a part of it. Jeff explains techniques that can help anyone face challenges and uses his wheelchair as a learning tool for the techniques. He relates his successes and failures while showing people how to use both to improve their lives. Audiences will leave his presentations inspired but also with some practical tips.
