Are you looking for the perfect speaker to help your audience overcome trauma, learn resiliency, and heal from life’s unspeakable challenges? Meet Keith Edmonds.
Keith is a survivor of a horrific case of child abuse. As a toddler, Keith was a happy-go-lucky kid living with his mom in Flint, Michigan. On November 18, 1978, in a fit of rage, his mother’s boyfriend held Keith’s face against an electric heater, producing third-degree burns on over 50 percent of Keith’s little face.
Remarkably, Keith doesn’t let this tragedy define him. Instead, he wears the scars on his face the way superheroes wear their capes—as a symbol of heroism and bravery. Keith’s unique superpower includes helping victims of abuse, trauma survivors, and recovering addicts find the courage to transform their lives.
With natural humor and charisma, casual communication, and relatable examples, Keith helps others achieve a new perspective on life, reclaim their power, and find inspiration to fulfill their life’s journey. Audience members tout Keith as a man “who has the mentality that adversities do not have to keep people from moving forward” and someone whose “challenges and triumphs are a testimony to his survivor attitude.”
As part of Keith’s mission to inspire others to overcome adversity and to grow personally and professionally, Keith regularly speaks at elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, universities, civic groups, churches, and fundraisers for children’s causes across the country. He has also been a keynote speaker for the US Department of Justice, the Mid-Atlantic Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect, the South Dakota Unified Judicial System, the 18th Annual Kids First Luncheon in Roseville, CA, and the Tennessee Christian Chamber of Commerce, to name a few.
Keith earned his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University. He later went on to work in corporate sales for Dell and the Coca-Cola Company. At Dell, he consistently earned top sales awards for exceeding quotas. At Coca-Cola, he was given the toughest route of inner-city Detroit because of his ability to connect to a difficult populous. Coca-Cola rewarded Keith with extra bonuses for his performance.
In 2016, Keith Edmonds created the Keith Edmonds Foundation, a non-profit for abused and neglected children, as a way of paying it forward and helping all those children who were mistreated. He is also currently working on his first book and will soon be shopping for publishers.
